In order to achieve the double CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and CHC50121 Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, you will need to successfully complete a total of 31 units. Additionally, as part of the Assessment Requirements for these units, you must fulfill a minimum of 440 hours of practical work experience.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific educational prerequisites for this qualification. However, students must be at least 16 years old to enroll. If students are under the age of 18, they will need parental or guardian consent to enroll.
Before undertaking work placement, Child Care students will need to successfully complete a Working with Children/Vulnerable People Check in the state or territory where they intend to work.

- The ability and commitment of the students to complete the course;
- Eligibility requirements listed in the applicable National Training Package;
- Students existing ability in the ACSF core skills, (learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy)
Students not meeting these requirements will be directed to more suitable qualifications or skill development programs.
